My husband Rodney and I are very pleased with URCA. We believe that the God first principals coupled with the passion and dedication of the teachers, staff and administrations have been vital to Travin’s academic success and social growth. He has adjusted well to the curriculum and enjoys getting up and going to school. In fact, he actually looks forward to it everyday. Travin loves his teachers, and his new found friends. URCA has truly been a blessing to our family.

In 2009 my husband and I made the best investment that we’ve ever made by putting our daughter in the Upper Room Christian Academy and Preschool. The academic, social, and biblical knowledge that she began receiving from PreK-2 went beyond our expectation. As she has now matriculated to the academy, we along with our family and friends, are amazed at the abilities that her teachers have had in pulling the best and the most out of her. We love the fact that each individual student is challenged and gains instruction according to his or her educational needs for mastery. This is due to the passion of teachers and administrators providing nothing but the best through the school’s curricular, love, and attention. The love that Tyra feels through the atmosphere of URCA makes her excited to attend school daily. The love, the education, and the biblical knowledge that she receives causes us to bring her back yearly. We love and appreciate The Upper Room Christian Academy.
Our experience at Upper Room Christian Academy has exceeded our expectations of a “school” experience. The teachers, staff, and parents operate as a family unit with the ultimate goal of seeing the students grow and thrive in all (academic, social, and spiritual) areas. There is a spirit of excellence that is very evident throughout the school from the grounds keeping to the academics to the character expectations for the students. The teachers have learned the character of my girls and know how to nurture them and celebrate them in ways that encourage their growth. I have spent a lot of time visiting schools in the Raleigh area for my family, and Upper Room has continued to remain the front runner. This is due to the academic rigor and the expectation of my girls to not only learn the Word of God but show the Love of God in their everyday actions. Additionally, the teachers are genuinely excited about teaching and greet my girls with lots of love every morning!

It is my honor to let you know how happy we are at URCA. Both Jahdai and Jalil have attended other schools (Charter and Christian Academies) before enrolling at URCA. Without hesitation I can say that this has been our best experience.
Comparing URCA with our former schools starts with the “beyond the basics” curriculum. In addition, the art, music, computer, and Spanish classes are impressive. I’ve also observed my grandchildren’s growth spiritually. They are asking biblical questions that have me reaching for my Bible in order to provide the accurate answers they are desiring to know.
Another key difference is URCA’s family atmosphere and partnership. URCA encourages parents to become more than spectators to our children’s educational experience. As a Classroom Parent, I try to spend some time each week in the classroom. Spending time in the classroom has allowed me to see firsthand the dedication of the teachers. They are tough, but not so tough that they will not give a student a deserving hug. I’ve been impressed with every teacher I have come in contact with. They are professional, courteous and willing to help all students of URCA.
The curriculum is challenging but not difficult to accomplish with hard work. I’m finding that I am re-learning as my grandchildren are being challenged each day in the classroom.
Many thanks to the work URCA is doing in the lives of our children, Kingdom children.
